The ‘Foodstuffs Polar’ cool-store in Manukau City includes a 9000m2freezer operating at -18ºC. Its concrete floor is a 180mm thick slab, created in three pours then post-tensioned to provide a joint-free finish. An environmental load-out area (ELA) was built as a separate post-tensioned slab.
All the floors were coated with Aquron 1000, which hardens the concrete, eliminates concrete dust and leaves an attractive glossy finish.
