Tauranga Indoor Sports Centre

Constructed: 2010

Main Contractor: Hawkins Construction

Concrete: Firth Tauranga

The sports floors at the indoor sports centre are constructed over piles and thus require a considerable reinforcing content.

The issues with sprung timber sports floors are moisture in the concrete, positioning of movement joints and flatness to ensure even bounce.

Conslab constructed these floors to FM2 EN15620 using our Somero SXP laser screed. This is the only SCXP in the country. But flatness also comes down to the skill of the tradesmen on the power trowels.
